Terracotta
means “baked earth” in Italian…terracotta is clay that has been exposed to
heat.
Terracotta
was first used in prehistoric art. Paleolithic terracotta figures were fired in
primitive kilns, created underneath open fires. It has been used
throughout history for modeling sculpture and pottery. In the ancient times,
the first clay sculptures were dried in the sun after being created. They were then placed in the ashes of open hearths to harden, and then kilns were designed very much like the ones used for pottery today.
I am an art fan and believe in the power of an artifact that can transform your day....
Your creations are excellent. The fine details you have shown in your work is admirable.
