on the exact origin of batik, but samples of such patterns on cloth have been

Works of art- Ardhnarishvar
Me Without You is Incomplete
Ardhnarishvar is the epicene form
of the Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati …Shakti. In this incarnation they are
merged into a single form where the right side depicts the Lord and the left
Parvati. There are many mythological stories and interesting tales to the
origin of the form.
Ardhnarishvar
is a beautiful example for a perfect union of the harmonizing pairs creating
the world and life within it… male and female, earth and sky, day and
night, light and darkness, pleasure and pain , birth and death. If
we see at a human level, it depicts the highest representation of love possible
between the female and the male in each of us
