Terracotta speaking

Terracotta as a medium for art

Terracotta means “baked earth” in Italian…terracotta is clay that has been exposed to heat.

Terracotta was first used in prehistoric art. Paleolithic terracotta figures were fired in primitive kilns, created underneath open fires. It has been used throughout history for modeling sculpture and pottery. In the ancient times, the first clay sculptures were dried in the sun after being created. They were then placed in the ashes of open hearths to harden, and then kilns were designed very much like the ones used for pottery today.

I am an art fan and believe in the power of an artifact that can transform your day....

Works of art- Ardhnarishvar

Me Without You is Incomplete

Ardhnarishvar is the epicene form of the Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati …Shakti. In this incarnation they are merged into a single form where the right side depicts the Lord and the left Parvati. There are many mythological stories and interesting tales to the origin of the form.

Ardhnarishvar is a beautiful example for a perfect union of the harmonizing pairs creating the world and life within it… male and female,  earth and sky, day and night,  light and darkness, pleasure and pain , birth and death.  If we see at a human level, it depicts the highest representation of love possible between the female and the male in each of us
